Founded in 2012. Our mission is to keep the community engaged year-round by not only motivating, encouraging, and rewarding healthy lifestyles; but by creating incredibly fun and unforgettable experiences.

The annual Irving Marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier and features one of the fastest, flattest, and most scenic courses in the country, centrally located in Dallas/Fort Worth, making it the perfect destination race for runners across the country.

After the first Irving Marathon in 2013 with over 1,900 participants, it has now grown from 1 event a year to 8 multiple-distance events throughout the year. Distances range from a 5k to a marathon to accompany all fitness levels. “Fast and Flat” races include Love on the Run, Irving Marathon, Irving Oktoberfest, and Irving Frost. “Fun and Festive” races include Irving St. Patrick’s, Fiesta de Mayo, Irving Turkey Trot, and Paws Colinas 5k-9.

Each event brings people from all over the world together for a great cause!

The Irving Marathon Running Series benefits the Irving Schools Foundation by donating a $1,000 scholarship at each event 8 times a year.

100% of donations to the Irving Schools Foundation go to their programs, such as Food For Thought to provide meals for students in need.

100% of donations to the Sponsor A Student To Run Program go towards the race registration costs for students in need. At each event, Irving Marathon Running Series donates 20-25 race registrations to students in need. Your donation helps children of our community practice wellness at an early level. Children who learn at an early age to be self-motivated, stay active, and make healthy lifestyle choices have a lower risk of having obesity and other critical health conditions. The Irving Marathon Running Series is taking steps early for a healthy future.

Lazaro Alvarez, Founder/CEO/Race Director of the Irving Marathon Running Series was nominated by the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and received the Entrepreneur Award at the 2023 Hispanic Business Salute by the Dallas Cowboys, NBC 5-Telemundo 39, and UPS.

The Hispanic Business Salute is an event that recognizes Hispanic entrepreneurs and supports the younger generation in achieving success. Its mission is to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic entrepreneurs in North Texas who have significantly impacted their communities and created opportunities through innovation and entrepreneurship.
