You can donate on our Giving page. 100% of your contribution goes to Canine Companions.
Yes! The 2018 event will again be a Boston Qualifying event.
Who receives a finisher medal?
For the 2018 Irving Marathon, finishers in the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and the Marathon will recieve a Finisher Medal.
How long will the course stay open?
The course will remain open for 6.5 hours from the 7:30AM Marathon start time. Due to the impact the event will have on city streetways and to maintain compliance with our permit with the City of Irving, 6.5 hours will be a hard stop time. Runners who are remaining will be picked up by Irving Fire or event staff. Please feel free to shoot us an email at email@example.com if you have any specific questions.
Yes. Please keep in mind the potential hazards this could pose for first aid/medical responders trying to get your attention in the event of an emergency- please keep your head on a swivel and stay alert!
What about strollers?
Yes, runner may bring strollers. Irving Convention Center offers the Irving Marathon added capacity. We do ask that runners who will be using joggers/strollers be mindful of your impact on other runners. We highly encourage you to become familiar with the course, as the Half Marathon and Full Marathon course will navigate a curb as we enter the trails.
Where do I park?
For the 2018 Irving Marathon, the Irving Convention Center will be managing parking for the event. Parking will cost $8 per vehicle (cash only). We highly encourage you to consider carpooling and to take a moment to map out your route prior to the event.

Aid Station Locations
Aid Stations will be located roughly every 1.5 to 2 miles. We will have a total of 14 aid stations throughout the course. Port-o-lets and Irving Fire & EMS will also be available along the course. Each Aid Station will be represented with a Baylor Licensed Athletic Trainer.
Solid food items (bananas and oranges) will be available at Aid Station #5. Half and full runners will navigate this station twice.

Inclement Weather (Please Read!)
The Irving Marathon will be held rain or shine. Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme temperatures. If necessary, participants will be made aware of these conditions and possible dangers that could result via the Irving Marathon website, as well as through other means of communication such as e-mail, social media and public address announcements.
DEFINITION OF ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The event may be delayed or canceled due to Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain, or any other extreme weather condition. Light to moderate rain is not considered an Adverse Weather Condition.
Race officials, in consultation with the City of Irving, National Weather Service and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Visible lightning will cause the race to be delayed.
If the race is canceled, it will not be re-scheduled. Irving Marathon refunds and/or deferrals will not be made by the Irving Marathon in the case of inclement weather cancellations.
